Alexander New

Biography

Alexander New hails from the the suburbs of Cleveland, where he has lived all of his life. His interest in the sciences was kindled at an early age, when, like most every young child, he longed to become an astronaut. Although this specific desire failed to endure, an interest in the mechanics of the natural world has remained with him to the current day. Indeed, it is the driving force behind his desire to ascend to the realm of science.

For most of his secondary school career, he expressed more of a predilection and fondness for language and words. However, his encounter with Isaac Newton's creation in the twilight moiety of highschool showed him just how impressive and beautiful mathematics could be. This momentous meeting, among other events, prompted somewhat of a reversal of priorities when he arrived at Kenyon. He is pursuing a degree in both mathematics and physics.

Alex likes a lot of things a lot, but his some of his more dedicated interests include Bayes Theorem, the Manyworlds Interpretation, and puns. His reaction upon being shown nearly any new maths or physics is generally, “Wow, that's super neat.” He really likes Thomas Pynchon, Eliezer Yudkowsky, and Tim Rogers.
