Cam Benedix
Biography

Cam Benedix is a physics and math double major from the class of 2028. He hails from Greencastle, Indiana, and first visited Kenyon during the Summer of 2023. During this visit, while held in a state of stunned captivation by the Cosmolab spiel, Cam naively accepted a Kenyon physics sticker from Tom. Much to Cam's surprise, this was a legally binding contract, and on this account he joined Cosmolab in the Spring of 2024. Fortunately, Cam has loved math and its applications to an obsessive extent since roughly his 8th grade geometry class, and thus takes his fate in stride. Since joining, he has pursued work in numerical relativity, and his current research focus is on the dynamics of cosmological first-order phase transitions in the regime of nonlinear gravity.
While waiting for runs to finish, Cam enjoys going on walks, practicing trombone, and playing video games, usually those that he's bad at (which is most of them). His energy drink of choice is Zero Sugar Mountain Dew, which contains a lot of caffeine for him, and he has strong opinions about the better sign convention for the spacetime metric: (-,+,+,+), obviously.
