Rachel Nguyen

Rachel is a physics major in the Class of 2019. She is from New Orleans, Louisiana where she attended St. Mary’s Dominican High School. She began an independent study in cosmology the second semester of her sophomore year and began research the following summer. She liked it so much that she came back for another summer. Rachel has done research in Scalar Field Dark Matter using the Klein Gordon Equation and is currently exploring the generation of primordial black holes using full relativity.

Outside of physics, Rachel works as a Research and Reference Intern at the library and a student director for a middle school outreach program, ATHENAS. When she not working she enjoys petting dogs, attempting to finish her ten year long cross-stitch project, and pickling daikon.
